2x16PLC – Fiber Optic Splitter For FTTH/FTTB Passive Optical Networks
The 2x16PLC is a passive optical splitter based on Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology. It is designed to efficiently distribute optical signals in FTTH/FTTB Passive Optical Networks.
This distribution box is used as a terminal point for the feeder cable to connect with the fiber optic drop cable in FTTx communication network systems. Fiber splicing 2×16PLC and connecting can be well done in this distribution box.
1. Optical Performance
A PLC splitter is a passive optical power management component based on planar lightwave circuit technology. It evenly distributes optical signals to multiple output paths in a FTTH network and offers high reliability and cost-effective solution for broadband applications.
HIWIN provides a series of 1xN and 2xN PLC fiber optic splitters in both bare fiber or pre-connectorized versions, meeting various application requirements. Bare fiber PLC splitters are suitable for splicing on distribution cables or drop cables, while pre-connectorized Rack PLC splitters can be used in FTTH Passive Optical Network (PON) deployments as EPON Splitter and GPON Splitter.
Our 2x16PLC is a 1RU 19” rack mount passive PLC splitter which can divide two input signals into 16 output signals. It features low insertion loss, low PDL and high reliability and is designed to be mounted in a standard 19” server or cabinet for easy installation. We also offer a variety of adapter interfaces to meet different needs in a wide range of networks.
The 2x16PLC is made of durable and sturdy ABS plastic with SC/APC connectors. It has high optical performance and is ideal for use in FTTH projects, CATV systems and WDM systems. It also complies with the standards set by Telcordia smart home (GR-1209-CORE and GR-1221-CORE). This single-mode 2×16 PLC can be used in all types of FTTH networks to deliver high-speed Internet, digital TV and telephone services for subscribers.
2. Installation
Our 2×16 Plc Fiber Optic Splitter is available in different types for different requirements: Rack Mount PLC, FBT Splitter, Cassette Type PLC Splitter and Insertion Module PLC. The inserted type cassette box PLC splitter allows the pigtail to be easily changed, it greatly simplifies maintenance management and protects the pigtail from damage.
The Rack Mount PLC Splitter is enclosed in a 1RU rack mount patch panel and all SC adapters pre-loaded on front, saving valuable installation time. It is fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology and distributes optical signals accurately and evenly. It is commonly used in cabinet connecting the Central Office (CO) and terminal apparatus for uniform optical signal distribution in FTTHx deployments and other passive optical networks (e.g., EPON and GPON). It also is suitable for building’s outer wall application.
