In addition, you won’t have to worry about stains or mildew because the material is designed to resist these issues. This will not only prevent them from growing, but also prevent them from spreading to other areas of the structure, which could cause serious damage. Additionally, you’ll need to be careful when using a garden hose to avoid any damage to the vinyl itself!
When you’re ready to start construction, make sure the ground you’re putting your pergola on is level. If not, you’ll need to dig holes to secure each post. This makes the posts much more stable and helps ensure your pergola is as straight as possible.
Next, mark where you’ll attach the beams for your roof on each post. Then, use a 4-inch nail to attach them to the post. Once the beams are in place, you can continue to nail in your rafters.
Before you can build your pergola, it’s important to find out if you need a permit in your area. You’ll also want to check if there are any zoning restrictions in your area.
Once you’ve checked all of these items, you can begin constructing your pergola. The pergola kit comes with detailed instructions and all the necessary components, so you’ll only need a couple of people to assemble it.
